Are you kidding me? No use of the upper body to block? Just lift the arm and drop it? You are trying to block a leg for crying out loud! You need to bring up the blocking arm so your hand could almost grab your ear and turn your shoulders to chamber it even more and then start with the shoulders rotating, then the arms follows near the end of the shoulder rotation, then the elbow will only move a very little bit and then the arm below the elbow should snap out and across to sweep the area and return to center to protect.

What is shown here is just false hope that one could effectively block a kick effectively with a simple arm movement!
